Mobile Orthodontics

Mobile orthodontics corrects dental misalignments in children and adolescents

Thanks to modern orthodontics, nothing is impossible when it comes to correcting tooth positions. Today, with new methods and technology, significant changes can be achieved in a much shorter time than before.

Orthodontics is a branch of dentistry that focuses on correcting aesthetic and functional anomalies in the alignment of teeth and dental arches. Patients can choose either mobile or fixed orthodontic appliances depending on various factors.

Mobile braces are more commonly used to correct dental irregularities in younger children and adolescents up to 18 years old, whose teeth are still growing and developing. Their primary purpose is to guide the growth of teeth and dental arches. When worn consistently, they can achieve significant improvements in both function and aesthetics. Mobile braces are typically worn at night and for a few hours during the day. The success of the treatment largely depends on the patient, as they are responsible for putting the appliance in and taking it out. In some cases, a short period of fixed appliance therapy may be needed after using a mobile appliance to achieve the optimal result.

Orthodontic check-ups

In orthodontic treatment, check-ups are the most important part of the process. They are carried out every eight to fourteen weeks, sometimes even more frequently, depending on the condition of the dental arches. The duration of treatment depends on the type of anomaly and the case's complexity. After treatment, the patient is required to wear a mobile appliance, which at this stage serves as a retainer to keep the teeth in the position achieved through therapy. The retainer is usually worn at night, and if it is not worn, relapse could occur quickly, meaning the teeth shifting back toward their pre-treatment position.
