Thanks to orthodontics, nothing is impossible when it comes to correcting tooth positions. Today, it is possible to achieve significant changes in a shorter time than before, thanks to new methods and technologies.
Orthodontics is a branch of dentistry that deals with correcting aesthetic and functional anomalies in the position of dental arches and teeth. Patients choose either removable or fixed orthodontic appliances (braces) depending on various factors.
Fixed orthodontic therapy is suitable for all age groups after tooth growth and development are complete. The therapy consists of placing brackets on the teeth and a wire that corrects the tooth positions. There are different types of brackets: classic metal, aesthetic (ceramic), and self-ligating brackets.
At Polyclinic Fiziodent, patients can choose from various brackets to meet every aesthetic preference and desire.
„With fixed orthodontics, you can correct the most complex aesthetic and functional anomalies!“

An important part of orthodontic treatment is regular check-ups, which are repeated every four to six weeks, and sometimes even more frequently. During check-ups, the orthodontist tightens the wires if necessary, monitors the treatment progress, and implements the planned steps. The duration of the therapy depends on the type of anomaly and the complexity of the case. After the braces are removed, the patient is advised to wear a retainer to maintain the teeth in their corrected positions. A retainer is a simple and effective removable appliance, usually worn at night. The excellent results of the therapy can only be maintained through regular use of the retainer. If it is not worn, relapse may occur, meaning the teeth may shift back toward their original positions.
